kernel updates wipe the vbox dkms module?
Could you update virtualbox-guest packages from Debian sid repo (5.0.2 versions) for solving 3D acceleration.
update mint-mirrors
mdm: autologin fails randomly (race condition at boot time?)
installing HP Linux Printing Service HPLIP. It wants a library item libtool, which is already installed (I did sudo apt-get install libtool to verify). The HPLIP site is http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html Thank you for looking into this. HPLIP worked with LM17.3.
pix: Doesn't seem to generate thumbnails until view is scrolled
[Fixed in git] xed: in gedit, and in pluma, you can select text and move it by dragging it with the mouse. That doesn't work in xed.
does mdm need a respawn workaround? review lightdm changes in respect to systemd adoption (/dev/tty0, etc..)

Cinnamon Edition - last processed comment: #676

When scrolling down in the Menu smoothly, icons/items leave some “traces” behind, if you can call it that
Nemo get blank icons after set “Show text in icons” to “Always” or “Local Files Only”.
Cinnamon (3.05+sarah) crashed to Fallback while Winetricks was installing an app, Irfanview. It was in the procedure where the installer writes launchers to the desktop.
mouse motion settings reset themselves after a while?
constantly getting a NEMO “thumbnail error” when I open photo directories (no videos) I haven’t visited in a while.
Clock takes up about 30-60 seconds to update the hour after waking up the system from sleeping. Can we get a signal on wakeup?

MATE Edition - last processed comment: #356

network-manager | nm-applet:
After I resume from suspend NetworkManager seems to work fine, Wifi connection is maintained, but nm-applet shows Wi-Fi Networks and other things grayed out. Running ‘pkill nm-applet’ and then ‘nm-applet’ fixes this.
Can't join WPA network (password not being passed), 3 people have this problem
after updates nm-applet shows ethernet icon instead of wifi for connections?
nm connecting via WPA doesn't connect (no password passed).. using network connections to save the password -> works. Tested with MATE edition on a Lenovo Yoga 500.
Another NetworkManager bug. Just tried to run the mint 18 MATE live on an old pc in my home and it wouldn’t recognize my Wi-Fi at all. It just looked as if I didn’t have Wi-Fi. Killing and restarting nm-applet didn’t help in this case, so the bug must be deeper. Sadly, this is a bug I’ve read about in Ubuntu MATE 16.04 so again, this might be a bug from upstream. For comparison, I had no problem of this sort when running mint cinnamon 18 live on this pc, and it is running mint Xfce (first 17.2, upgraded to 17.3) for a while and never had this problem.
very frequent “at-spi-registryd.desktop not responding” error at reboot/shutdown and it’s associated very slow reboot/shutdown
